As Wesley United Methodist Church journeys through the season of Lent, March invites the congregation into deeper faithfulness, reflection, and service. Pastor Martha’s message draws inspiration from St. Patrick, reminding us that enduring faith and courageous obedience can transform even the most difficult chapters of life into powerful witness. Like Patrick, we are called to remain steadfast and responsive to God’s leading—wherever it may take us.
Lent shapes the rhythm of the month, with opportunities for intentional spiritual practices. The congregation is encouraged to participate in filling Alms Bags to support global mission efforts, to gather for Palm Sunday and the sacred services of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday, and to dedicate Easter Garden flowers in memory or honor of loved ones.
Wesley’s commitment to community engagement remains strong. Outreach ministries continue through the Backpack Feeding Program at Scott’s Run, Circle of Friends meals, UMCOR Sunday, and preparations for the annual Rise Against Hunger event in April. The church also celebrates milestones within its own community, including the recognition of an Eagle Scout and scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors, underscoring our investment in young people and future leaders.
As Easter draws near, Wesley UMC embraces this season as one of renewal: finding God in community, deepening relationships, and living out faith through worship, generosity, and compassionate action.
