BACK BACK FEEDING PROGRAM (for Scott’s Run) on Wednesday, May 14th at 12:45.m. We pack food bags that are sent home with school children so they have food over the weekend. The goal at Scott’s Run is to ensure that no school child spends the weekend hungry. The task takes about 90 minutes. We’re a fun group and have a good time but we’re on the move for the entire packing time.

MonValley DISTRICT CONFERENCE – You are invited to attend our District Conference on Sunday, May 18th, at 3:00 PM at Gateway United Methodist Church in Fairmont. In addition to our regular business, we’ll be saying farewell to our District Superintendent, Rev. Amy Shanholtzer, who will become Superintendent of the Little Kanawha District on July 1.

HANDMADE & VINTAGE ITEMS FOR SALE!!
Wesley’s United Women in Faith (UWF) fundraiser is entirely devoted to collecting funds for our Ukrainian Project.  We are selling our handmade and vintage treasures.  Every Sunday, a new selection of handmade and vintage items will be offered for sale on the table and rack in the alcove at the back of the Lecture Room.   We will be staffing the sale on Sundays 10-11 a.m. and 12–1p.m.  To support this sale, we need you to donate your treasures with descriptions of what each is, the history and an idea of the value for pricing.  Please donate vintage or handmade textiles, china, glass, potter, paintings or drawings, jewelry, collectibles, anything worth $25 or more (but not clothes, please).  Please bring your items to the church office, a description of what it is, where you got it and whatever you may know about it, including an estimated value or price.  eBay sale with URL code to follow!  Thank You very much!

PENTECOST SUNDAY – June 8th. Pentecost is a Christian holiday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles of Jesus.

WV ANNUAL CONFERENCE – The WV Annual Conference will be held on the campus of West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon on June 11-14. Our very own musicians and choir will be providing the music for the opening worship service on Wednesday, June 11 at 1:00 pm. You won’t want to miss that!

WESLEY-SPRUCE STREET UMC VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS). Our “Road Trip” VBS will take place at Wesley UMC on Monday, June 16, from 5-7:30 PM. We’ll have a delicious meal, then learn a Bible story at each of 4 stations. All children aged 3-5th grade are welcome, and there will also be a class for adults. You can find your place attending class, teaching or helping to teach, serving dinner, registering students, and more. More information will be forthcoming.

SOCIAL GROUP JUNE EVENT – All Wesley adults are invited to join us on Friday, June 20th for a 7:30 pm performance at the Performing Arts Center at Garrett College in McHenry, MD. The show is “Take Me Home: A Tribute to the Music of John Denver” by Jim Curry and Band. Adult tickets are $35. Wesley’s church bus will be taking concert goers…first come, first serve! A collection will be taken to cover cost of gas. Contact the church office to reserve your ticket and/or spot on the bus.
